 What will this month bring me?

My mind wanders to the Global Telepathy 2024.  That is necessary if we want to progress to Empires of the *M[onth] (Minds) 2029 and World of Hybrids 2034.

In my case, I am already thinking of VIVA 2041.

Indeed, our thoughts, or rather our consciousness is the end all be all substance for us in moving forward.  Without our consciousness we are nothing.  With it, we endure for eternity.


#traxxfm Well Habibi... The way it works is we have to start with believing in our Mushin No Shin by developing Shoshin.

The Four Sicknesses

Most of us struggle to clear our thoughts because of what the Zen masters call the Shikai (four sicknesses). These unwanted emotions take us from our enlightened state.

I won’t pretend Mushin no shin is difficult to maintain. I’m not sure anyone truly frees themselves of the Shikai but you can reduce their impact over time. There’s no shortcut to this other than conditioning.

Kyo (Surprise)

I like to picture a meerkat when I think of kyo. Have you ever got yourself deep in the zone then a door opens or someone makes a sound? My eyes dart to the event and I’ve lost my mental freedom. Usually, external distractions have no impact on my task and I’m improving my ability to ignore them.

Ku (Fear)

Fear is a frustrating deadweight preventing us from fulfilling our potential. Last weekend, I did my first ever handstand. Nothing had changed. I didn’t suddenly get stronger or more balanced. I simply stopped being afraid of failing.

You don’t need to take on the world for Mushin no shin, it’s ok to start where you feel comfortable.

Gi (Doubt)

Most of us suffer from self-doubt at times. We don’t believe we are strong enough and cling to our comfort zone to feel safe.

Let go.

Be prepared so you aren’t in any danger then trust yourself.

Waku (Confusion)

Confusion will happen if you try to achieve an empty mind in an activity that you are not skilled enough for yet. We all know what it feels like to be overwhelmed when you’re thrown into the deep end. Train harder to build your skills to stop this.

#traxxfm In your heart you must come to the realization that Karatedo, Aikido, Kendo, Judo, or Budo, is not simply something that you do but it is something that you are. Your spirit is alive with your “do”. You are it and it is you. Mine is the Athete4Life...



Both Zen mediation practice and Kata practice are experiential pursuits. That is, you have to do them, not talk about them. You may be able to talk and read about them, but you must experience them to be able to understand them on a basic intrinsic level.

#traxxfm If Athlete4Life is my Zen and Running is my Zazen, then my Koan is "Less is More". This is not the final answer. This is the Beginning to an End. Ultimately the End is the Beginning; which is "Nothing is Everything". Make sense, honey?



#traxxfm Through Kata or Zazen the student will develop meditational powers and insight, known as Joriki & Chi-e. Joriki is the ability to quiet the normally distracted mind & establish spiritual balance. Chi-e is insight & intuitive side of realization.

#traxxfm I'm telling you all this because listening to TraXX is also a form of Zazen and therefore is the Do to achieve Zen. Very importantly, for that to happen, the quality of the input determines the quality of the output.

#traxxfm A satori that can be described is not a satori. Satori, or awakening, is the state where intuition supersedes intellect and has often been described by Zen Masters as indescribable. All I can say is I dreamed of these:



#traxxfm I might say that my Kigatsuku (Inner Master) is the Golden Buddha but since a person is described by what he does all day long, then I say I am a Writer Who Runs more than I am a Runner Who Writes. We become what we think about all day long.



#traxxfm Finally, I discover my Kigatsuku; I am a Writer Who Runs. That redefines my whole mental landscape. My major is writing while my minor is *[is] running. Writing is my vocation then. * Gosh, all the while it was the opposite.
#traxxfm I knew it all along but I was not specific. That is a world of difference. The biggest realization is I should not feel guilty if I cannot run as much as I wanted to. That is not my major. What I should be doing is to keep on writing.

LESS IS MORE 1/8/21

All the while I was trying to push instead of pull.  So if the Koan is Less is More, then I should just enjoy the journey than arrive in a hurry.  I should just flow instead of affording.  Therefore I should carry on with:

  • Original TMEH Workout plus Core - Mon to Thu
  • TMEH Veni, Vidi, Vici plus Running Drill - Friday
  • Elliptical Interval plus Jump Rope - SS
  • TMEH Boxing Routine - SS
